Create a Volume Discount

Here’s how to set it up in the FAD – Auto Discounts app:

Step #1: Click “Create Discount”:

From your FAD dashboard, click the “Create Discount” button.

Step #2: Choose Discount Type – Volume Discount:

Select “Volume Discount” from the available discount types and click Configure.

Step #3: Select Discount Method – Automatic or Discount Code:

Decide how the discount should be applied:

  • Automatic Discount: Applied automatically based on quantity in cart. No code needed.
  • Discount Code: Customers must manually enter the code at checkout.

Step #4: Add Discount Title & Description:

  • Title: Used for internal tracking inside the app.
  • Description: Optional note to help you identify the campaign.

Step #5: Set Discount Combination Options:

Choose whether your volume discount can be combined with:

  • Order Discounts
  • Product Discounts
  • Shipping Discounts

Enable the combinations you want this offer to support.

Step #6: Enter Offer Name:

Give your discount a clear internal name under Offer Details. This helps you identify and manage it later inside the app.

Step #7: Select “Applies To” Condition:

Choose where this discount will apply:

  • All Products: Apply storewide (default)
  • Product: Select individual products
  • Collection: Apply to specific collections only

Step #7: Set Offer Threshold:

Enter a minimum cart subtotal (before discount) to trigger the offer.

For example:

  • $0: No minimum (applies to all orders)
  • $100: Offer only applies when cart subtotal reaches $100

Step #8: Configure Discount Rule:

Under the Discount Rule, define your quantity-based pricing tiers:

1. Enter the minimum quantity required.

2. Choose discount type:

  • Fix discount
  • Percentage discount
  • Sell product on this price

3. Enter the discount value

4. Click Add Rule to create multiple rules.

For example:

  • Buy 2 – 5% off
  • Buy 4 – 10% off
  • Buy 6 – 15% off

Pro Tip: You can create as many rules as needed.

Step #9: Set Schedule:

Choose when the offer runs:

  • Run discount continuously: Always active.
  • Run discount on schedule: Set custom start and end dates.

Step #10: Save Your Discount:

Once all fields are filled out, click the “Create” button in the top-right or bottom-right corner.

Your volume discount will now be active and applied automatically based on the rules you set.

Volume Discount Widget Designing:

FAD’s Volume Discount feature includes a customizable Product Page Widget that showcases volume-based discount offers right on your product pages.

This encourages higher-order values and gives shoppers a clear view of the savings they can unlock by purchasing in bulk.

This widget is dynamically generated based on the discount rule you create and auto-updates as you adjust the settings.

Step: From the top, click on “Discount Widget”.

You can then customize the widget background, border & text color.

Also set the

  • Tier List Title: The main heading of the widget is shown on the product page. For example: “Buy More, Save More”
  • Fixed Discount Label: Used when you’re offering a fixed amount discount (e.g., “$10 off on 2 items”). For example: “Buy {{CONDITION}} to get {{CURRENCY}}{{DISCOUNT}} off”
  • Percentage Discount Label: Used when you’re offering a percentage-based discount (e.g., “10% off when you buy worth $100”). For example: “Buy worth {{CONDITION}} to get {{DISCOUNT}}% off”
  • Sell Price Discount Label: Used when offering a product at a reduced fixed price (e.g., “Buy 3 items, get each at $5”). For example: “Get {{CONDITION}} product at {{CURRENCY}}{{DISCOUNT}}”
  • A Note to Customers (Optional): Add a short line for clarity or terms of the offer. For example: “Discount applied at checkout.”
  • Claim Threshold Unlock Text (Optional): Message to show the minimum spend required to unlock the offer. Use {{amount}} placeholder. For example: “This offer is available if you spend a minimum of {{amount}}”

Dynamic Tags Used:

  • {{CONDITION}} – Quantity or spend threshold (e.g., 2, $100)
  • {{CURRENCY}} – Auto-fills with your store’s currency
  • {{DISCOUNT}} – Discount value (e.g., 10, 20%)

Real-time Widget Preview:

A live Volume Widget Preview on the right side allows you to instantly visualize your changes, from color adjustments to the title and button text.
