Create Checkout Validation Rules in Blockit App(Full Tutorial)
Step 1: From the Blockit App > Dashboard > Click Create Validation Rules button in the top-right to start.
Step 2: Enter a Rule Name to identify the rule (e.g., “Address Check”).
Step 3: Add a Short Description for internal reference (e.g., “Ensures address fields are filled”).
Step 4: Select when to Trigger rule:
- Land on the checkout page from cart: Validates customer details as soon as they enter the checkout page from the cart.
- Completing checkout: Validates customer details right before the order is submitted for processing.
Step 5: Validation Customization Rules:
- Choose All Below to require all listed conditions to be met for the rule to trigger.
- Choose Any Below to trigger the rule if any single condition is met.
Step 6: Select the Rule type from the list – Choose the type of validation from the dropdown (e.g., Customer, Order Details, Cart Details, Shipping Address).
Step 7: Select Rule Condition: Pick a specific condition based on the selected rule type (Greater than or equals & Less than or equals).
Step 8: After selecting a Rule Type, add specific details in the corresponding box below.
For the Email address rule, enter the email value (e.g., “[email protected]”) to validate against.
Input a Validation Error Message (e.g., “Please enter valid email address”) to display if the condition fails.
Step 9: Click Add Sub Condition to include additional criteria if needed.
Step 10: Sub condition is created now, add the details as per the needs.
Step 11: To create a new condition that matches with existing ones, click Add Condition to add another rule.
Step 12: New rule is created. Add the details as per the needs.
Step 13: Add the global error message.
Step 14: Additionally, Create a new tier for different conditions. (Optional)
Step 15: Add the rules and details in the new created tier(Optional)
Step 16: Determines what happens if an error occurs during checkout execution.
- Allow customers to complete checkout: Select this option to let the customer proceed with the order despite the error.
- Block customer from completing checkout: Select this option to prevent the customer from submitting the order until the error is resolved.
Step 17: Click on “Create” to save the rule.
