Fallback Shipping rate (Catch Zone)
Applies a Catch Rate only when no other shipping rates are applied. This ensures customers always see a shipping option at checkout, preventing order failure. It can be easily set up within the app.
From Click on Dashboard > Shipping > Catch
Add Zone (Catch Zone)
Select “Enable” to activate the fallback zone.
Choose “Disable” to turn it off without deleting it.
Zone Name (Internal Use Only):
Enter a name (e.g., West Zone) for internal tracking.
This name will not be shown to customers—just for your reference.
Catch Zone Details Note:
You cannot assign a country manually because this is a fallback zone.
It only triggers when no other shipping rules or zones match during checkout.
Click Save to apply the changes and enable the fallback rule.
Add Rate (Catch Zone)
After creating the zone, click “Add Rate” to define the fallback shipping charge for unmatched checkout scenarios.
Fill in the fallback rate details—enter a Rate Name, Base Price, optional Service Code, and Description.
Ensure the toggle is enabled, then click Save to activate the rate for the Catch Zone.
Choose the store locations or fulfillment services where this fallback shipping rate should apply.
Set Available Days & Time:
Choose the days of the week and time range during which this fallback rate should be available.
This helps control when the rate applies based on order placing day and time—ideal for managing delivery windows or cutoff times.
Set ZipCode:
Define which ZIP codes the fallback rate should apply to or exclude.
Choose Custom to enter specific ZIPs or patterns (e.g., 100001-100097, 100*, 110*).
Use Include ZipCodes to apply the rate only to those ZIPs.
Use Exclude ZipCodes to block the rate from those ZIPs.
This helps fine-tune fallback coverage based on location.
Exclude rates:
Set ZipCode – Apply to All
Select “All” under ZipCode Selection to make the fallback rate apply to all ZIP codes, regardless of location.
This is ideal when you want a universal backup shipping rate with no regional restrictions.
Rate Based On / Surcharge (Catch Rate):
Configure the fallback rate based on cart conditions like,
- Item weight
- Item Quantity
- Cart Total Percentage
- Product
1. Item Weight
This section allows you to create fallback shipping rates based on the total item weight in the cart.
Select charge based on Item weight.
Charge Per Weight: Enter the rate to charge per unit (e.g., $10 per lb)
Surcharge Amount:
-
Divided by each unit: Multiplies charge by total weight.
-
Surcharge add by every more than unit: Charges apply only when weight exceeds one full unit.
Minimum Charge Price: The minimum fee to apply, even if calculated rate is lower.
2. Quantity
This rule lets you apply shipping charges based on the total number of items in the cart.
Item Qty: Select this option to apply charges per unit of item quantity in the cart.
Charge Per Qty: Enter the amount to charge per item. For example, if $10 is entered, and a customer adds 3 items, the shipping charge will be $30.
Unit for Qty: Select the quantity unit (typically “Qty 1”) to define how the rate is calculated.
Minimum Charge Price: Enter the minimum price that should apply regardless of the item quantity.
3. Cart Total Percentage
Cart Total Percentage: Meaning the shipping rate will be calculated as a percentage of the total cart value.
Cart Total Percentage: Enter the percentage to charge. For example, 20% of the cart total.
Minimum Charge Price: Ensures a minimum fee (e.g., $10) is applied even if the calculated percentage is lower.
