Option 1 Mix Cart

If we enable this option and applicable only if you set shipping rates based on product. If the cart contains some products with rate and some items without rate then a default rate like weight-based will come along with the product-based rate.

Ex:
Product A, B, C has product based shipping and the shipping rate is $10
Product X, Y, Z has weight based shipping and the shipping rate is $20

Now we add Product A and Product X in to the cart.
If we set this option as Yes then it will mix the product and weight-based shipping rate and send a single shipping rate.
Here in the cart product A has the $10 shipping and X has weight-based shipping rate $20 so the shipping rate is $30 cause we set the Mix rate as Yes.

If we set this option as No then it will send two different shipping rates the product and weight-based shipping. User can choose one of them and the system is not mixed it.
Here in the cart product A has the $10 shipping and X has weight-based shipping rate of $20 so it send two rates on shipping $10 from the product based and $20 from the weight based cause we set the Mix rate as No. User can choose one of them shipping rate and go for the checkout.

Option 2 Mix Cart

If the mix cart is set then regular rates like weight-based should exclude the weight of the product-based rate?

EX:
Product A(2KG), B(2KG), C(3KG) has product based shipping and the shipping rate is $10
Product X(2KG), Y(2KG), Z(3KG) has weight based shipping, Every KG $5

NOTE: This option Yes, No is totally depends on the above options Yes, No.

Here I add Product A, Product X and Product Z into the cart.
This option depends on the above Yes and No so we have four seniors here.

1) Option 1 set as Yes and Option 2 set as No
Here the Mix rate is Yes and No to exclude the product weight if already has the product shipping rate.
Below is the calculation of the shipping rate.
Shipping Rate $10 + total weight of the cart is 7KG. 7*5 = $35 weight based shipping.
Mix cart is yes means we have to send one rate that is $10+$35 = $45 shipping rate in this case.

2) Option 1 set as Yes and Option 2 set as Yes
Here the Mix rate is Yes and Yes to exclude the product weight if already has the rate so the shipping rate is.
Below is the calculation of the shipping rate.
Product A shipping is $10 and exclude the 2 KG of this product from the cart weight.
X and Y weight is 5KG. 5*5 = $25 + $10 of product A shipping = $25 shipping rate in this case.

3) Option 1 set as No and Option 2 set as No
Here the Mix rate is No so it sends two shipping rate and No to exclude the product weight if already has the rate so the shipping rate is.
Below is the calculation of the shipping rate.
System send two separate rates of the shipping in this case cause No mix rate and user can choose one of them.
$10 product based shipping rate
7KG*5 = $35 weight based shipping rate

4) Option 1 set as No and Option 2 set as Yes
Here the Mix rate is No so it sends two shipping rates and Yes to exclude the product weight if already has the rate so the shipping rate is.
Below is the calculation of the shipping rate.
System send two separate rates of the shipping in this case cause No mix rate and user can choose one of them.
$10 product based shipping rate
5KG*5 = $25 weight based shipping rate

Option 3 Mix Cart

Should product-based rate only be available for its zip code?

To understand this option we can use a frozen product example.

Product A is the frozen product and I want to ship this product only for zipcode 10020.
If in the cart mix product including product A and one of the product based rate conditions is match with shipping price $10.
If we set this option as Yes then Product A is the frozen Item and it allows to checkout only if the user has the zipcode 10020 else it will through an error message.
If we set this option as No then user can go for the checkout without any error even they don’t use the 10020 zipcode in checkout.
