We have two options to set the surcharge shipping rate.

• By Cart Surcharge: You can set the surcharge rate based on the cart using Item Weight, Item Qty, Cart Total Percentage, Based On Distance
• By Product Surcharge: You can set the surcharge rate based on the cart using Product, Vendor, Variant, Product Tag, Product Type, Product SKU

Here for all the example my base rate is €10 to understand the options with example.

By Cart Surcharge:

1. Item Weight:

You can set the surcharge based on weight. Let’s understand it using example.

In the above example you can see I set the Charge Per Weight = €6 and Unit For Weight = 2KG

Now if my cart value is 2KG then it charge me €10 Base price + €6 Surcharge = €16 Final Shipping cost.

With this weight based surcharge we have two options

1) Divided by each unit:

This option is allow you to set the surcharge divided by each unit. In above example you can see the €6 for every 2 KG means if my cart has additional 1KG then it will charge €3 (€6/2).

Example: So here if my cart has 5 KG weight the final shipping cost with this option is calculate like below.

Base rate €10 + €12 (2KG+2KG) + €3 (1KG) = €25 shipping rate

2) Surcharge add by every more then unit:

This option is allow you to set the surcharge on every more than QTY.

Example: So here if my cart has 5 KG weight the final shipping cost with this option is calculate like below.

Base rate €10 + €12 (2KG+2KG) + €6 (1KG) = €28 shipping rate.

As you can see I have only 1KG extra still it will charge me €6 cause of the more than unit option is selected.

With this option you can set the Minimum Charge Price and Maximum charge price of the shipping.

Example: if you set here Minimum price €30 then in above example even the shipping final cost is €28 after addition the base price. It will send the shipping price as €30 cause the minimum cost is €30 for the shipping.

If we set the maximum €40 then if my cart has 10kg it will charge me €40 maximum not more than that.

We have one more option called Surcharge Count From.

This option is used to calculate the surcharge price from number of weight or qty.

For example here in above example I want to calculate the surcharge from 2KG.

Then up to 2 KG system will not calculate any surcharge but send the base rate and if my cart is more than 2KG then send the rate like below.

Example: Here I set the rate with Surcharge add by every more then unit and my cart value is 5 KG and set the option Surcharge Count From 2KG. final shipping cost with this option is calculate like below.

Base rate €10 + €6 (2KG) + €6 (1KG, More than weight) = €22, Here it charge only for 3 KG cause I set the surcharge calculate from the 2 KG.

2. Item Qty:

You can set the surcharge based on qty. Let’s understand it using example.

In the above example you can see I set the Charge Per item = €6 and Unit For qty = 2 QTY

Now if my cart value with 2 QTY then it charge me €10 Base price + €6 Surcharge = €16 Final Shipping cost.

With this QTY based surcharge we have two options:

1) Divided by each unit:

Base rate €10 + €6 (2QTY) + €6 (1QTY, More than weight) = €22, Here it charge only for 3 QTY cause I set the surcharge calculate from the 2 QTY.

3. Cart Total Percentage:

You can set the shipping surcharge based on cart subtotal percentage.

If you set the surcharge with the cart total Percentage then the calculation is like below.

Example: My cart subtotal is €200 and I set Cart Total Percentage with 10%.

Shipping calculate like below.

Base rate €10 + €20 (Cart Total Percentage Surcharge with 10%) = €30 final cost of the shipping

4. Based On Distance:

You can set the surcharge shipping based on distance. Like on every KM it will charge €10

Example: After adding the correct address system will calculate the KM and send the rate.

Based on my address my delivery KM is 2. so the shipping charge is €10 base price + €20 for 2KM surcharge = €30 Final shipping cost

By Product Surcharge:

You can set the surcharge by the product with Product, Variant, Vendor, Product Type, Product Tag, Product SKU.

Using this product based surcharge, You can set the surcharge based on Item Weight or Item QTY.

This apply the charges based on the individual surcharge based on your selection.
